Digital Systems
Digital Asset Management
Built and evolved enterprise digital asset systems at two organizations, from creating a global DAM from the ground up to helping migrate and restructure 80,000+ assets in Adobe Experience Manager.
Year :
2020 & 2025
Industry :
Water Technology & Constructions
Company :
Badger Meter & Mortenson
Role :
DAM Strategy & Administration

Challenge :
Large organizations create enormous amounts of brand, marketing, product, and project content, but that content only has value if people can find, trust, and use it. Across two organizations, I worked on very different DAM challenges: building a centralized global resource library from scratch at Badger Meter and helping Mortenson transition a large legacy asset environment into Adobe Experience Manager.
Solution :
I approached both systems around the same core goal: create content structures that make approved assets easier to find, manage, govern, and reuse. The specific solutions differed by organization, scale, technology, users, and business needs.
My Contributions :
DAM strategy, architecture, and administration
Metadata and taxonomy development
Folder and content architecture
Governance, permissions, and access
Enterprise asset migration and cleanup
Website and Salesforce-connected workflows
Portal and self-service content experiences
Training, documentation, and adoption
Cross-functional requirements gathering
Process and workflow improvement
Approach :
Building The Vault from the Ground Up
Badger Meter
I created and administered The Vault as a centralized resource library for employees, partners, and distributors worldwide. I established the metadata, asset groups, user roles, permissions, security structure, portals, and governance needed to support more than 6,400 assets, then trained users and connected approved resources to the website through API-driven delivery.
6,400+ assets
Global employee + partner access
Created Specialized brand and Team Specific Portals
Website-connected asset delivery
Migrating and Restructuring at Scale
Mortenson
At Mortenson, the challenge was significantly larger: transition from OpenAsset to Adobe Experience Manager while reorganizing the underlying content structure, metadata, project information, governance, and workflows. I co-led the migration and helped establish a scalable system aligned with how marketing, web, technology, and project teams actually use content.
80,000+ assets migrated and reorganized
2,000+ project folders standardized
50,000+ asset records corrected
700+ metadata tags organized
Training + Content Hub rollout
Impact :
Across both organizations, the work turned fragmented content libraries into more structured, searchable, and scalable systems. The projects improved access to approved content, strengthened data and governance, supported connected digital workflows, and gave teams clearer ways to manage and reuse creative assets at scale.
