Smart Water Utility Solutions Brochure
Designed a customer-focused solutions brochure from the ground up, organizing a broad portfolio of water technologies around seven utility goals rather than individual products.
Year :
2024
Industry :
Water Technology
Company :
Badger Meter
Role :
Brochure Strategy & Design Lead

Challenge :
Badger Meter offered a broad and increasingly complex portfolio of water technologies, but presenting everything product by product made it difficult to communicate the bigger value to utility customers. The company needed a new long-form sales tool that could explain the breadth of its offering without feeling like a product catalog.
Solution :
I designed the brochure from the ground up, developing both the visual approach and the overall information structure. Rather than organizing the core story around product categories, I reframed it around the goals utilities were trying to achieve, helping position Badger Meter as a partner in solving broader water-management challenges.
My Contributions :
Brochure concept and visual direction
Customer-focused content structure
Editorial system and page architecture
Cover and interior layout design
Information hierarchy and visual storytelling
Product and solution integration
Collaboration on case study and testimonial content
Print production and final artwork
Approach :
Building the Story Around the Customer
I organized the central section around seven objectives utilities might be working toward, such as ensuring long-term meter accuracy. Each section explained why the goal mattered, how Badger Meter could help, and included supporting customer proof through case studies and testimonials.
Connecting Solutions to Outcomes
The structure allowed meters, connectivity, software, analytics, water-quality technologies, and other capabilities to appear in context, showing how individual solutions could work together to support a larger customer goal.
Designing the Editorial System
I created the visual system from scratch, establishing the cover design, page architecture, typographic treatment, imagery, information hierarchy, and repeatable layouts needed to make a large amount of technical and customer-focused content clear, cohesive, and engaging.
Impact :
The finished brochure shifted the sales story from “here are our products” to “here is what we can help you accomplish,” giving the sales team a more customer-focused way to connect Badger Meter’s broad portfolio of products and technologies to the goals utilities were trying to achieve.
